What is Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib) vaccine?
Haemophilus influenza type B vaccine is a shot that is given to train the immune system to recognize and defend against a bacteria called Haemophilus influenzae type B. H. influenza type B (Hib) vaccine is a conjugate vaccine, meaning that it is created by techniques that link molecules called polysaccharides to proteins that normally are present on the outside of the Hib bacterial cell. In adults, the vaccine is injected in 1 or 3 doses, depending on your reason for requiring Hib vaccination.
