What is actinic keratosis?
Also known as solar keratosis, actinic keratosis (AK) is a growth that develops on skin that is exposed to sunlight. It happens on sun-damaged skin, particularly on the hands, forearms, face, and neck. AK appears as a reddish/brownish, rough and scaly or crusted area of skin and usually begins in one’s 30s or 40s, which means that can co-exist with pregnancy.
