THE SAFETY OF PLAVIX (CLOPIDOGREL) DURING PREGNANCY OR BREASTFEEDING

THIS MEDICATION CAN CAUSE HARM TO YOUR BABY: Plavix (clopidogrel) should only be taken during pregnancy if medically necessary, as determined by your doctor. Clopidogrel can be a life-saving treatment for moms who have an emergency heart attack or stroke. In these cases, your doctor may determine that the benefits of treatment with clopidogrel outweigh the potential risks. If clopidogrel is taken during pregnancy, it is recommended that it be discontinued 5 to 7 days before delivery to prevent bleeding complications in the mom.
