THE SAFETY OF PINDOLOL DURING PREGNANCY OR BREASTFEEDING

THIS MEDICATION CAN CAUSE HARM TO YOUR BABY: Pindolol should only be taken during pregnancy if the benefits of treatment outweigh the potential risks to the baby, as determined by your doctor. This medication crosses the placenta and can expose your baby to its effects. Taking beta-blockers, like pindolol, during pregnancy may increase the risk that your baby will be born small for their age at birth. Beta-blockers can also cause slowed heart rate and low blood sugar in the baby, and some studies have associated these medications with a higher risk of birth defects.
