THE SAFETY OF LOVENOX PERSANTINE (DIPYRIDAMOLE) DURING PREGNANCY OR BREASTFEEDING

THIS MEDICATION CAN CAUSE HARM TO YOUR BABY: Persantine (dipyridamole) should only be taken during pregnancy if medically necessary, as determined by your doctor. No adequate and well-controlled studies have looked at the safety of dipyridamole in expecting women. A few small studies have shown that treatment with dipyridamole and other antiplatelet medications may help lower the risk of preeclampsia, growth restriction of the baby, or stillbirth (death of the baby) in some high-risk pregnancies. In these cases, your doctor may determine that the benefits of treatment outweigh the potential risks.
