Almost everything... I remember when my elder daughter was born my mom lived with me for a couple of weeks and taught me how to change diapers, How to feed her properly, how to get her to sleep. Learned almost everything about being a parent from my parents.

Hang in there! That's the best advice I probably could have gotten and the advice they gave. Pregnancy was a wild ride.

No one knows what they are doing! And if you have an instinct, it's probably right!

Same here. My mom and step-dad were pretty emotionally detached and weren't all that involved (unless they were screaming at me). Thankfully, I had some pretty wonderful grandparents, aunts, and friends who had amazing parents, so I had some great examples.

They didn't really give advice, but they did set an example of what not to do.

Right there with you guys, if anything it was a strong lesson. It was also a lesson on boundaries with friends who have babies or are pregnant!

Enjoy it and get out and do things while you still can!

My mom helped me with structure during my pregnancy and if I was ever concerned she was there to help if she had experienced it as well! it was reassuring.

My mom didn't tell me what to do so much as she shared stories about her experiences from having me and my siblings. She also emphasized the importance of getting rest and eating well, expect the best and prepare for the not so good to happen (as far as symptoms go)

My mom gave me the advice that the mother is such an important role in the house. Develop those routines. Be constant. Know the importance of a schedule. She also told me to forgive myself and that nobody really knows what they're doing.

The best advice my parents gave me was how they raised me. I know that sounds cliche, but it's true. They were consistent, strict, and unconditionally loving.
