Anyone have any tips for traveling with a toddler? We are going to be flying. I will have to pack a stroller, babywearing gear, and a car seat (for using Lyft and Uber). Does anyone have suggestions to lighten my load? Perhaps some car seat/stroller combo that is lightweight and compact? Thanks!

I have a carseat backpack that makes it easy to carry. I check it. I take an umbrella stroller. I check that at the gate. I've used baby carriers, but depending on your tots age & size, I found just using the stroller to be a better option after about 18 mo-2.

I bought the same strap as mentioned above, but they also have bags/backpacks that you can put the carseat in to help you carry it around. Personally I like the luggage one because you can strap your toddler in there while walking so it combines the luggage, carseat, and your child all in one

Following this! I know that Uber is starting to introduce this service, BUT it will only start in major cities. I'm sure it is going to take a considerable amount of time before it is widespread.

There's a service you can use called BabyQuip that rents out baby things (strollers, car seats, cribs) to moms that are traveling. I believe it is more widespread than major cities. I have never used it before, but thought about doing it as a side gig. It is worth checking out!

Good to know Uber plans to introduce that service soon. That would make things more convenient for moms taking short car rides!

How old is your toddler? I'm not sure you're going to find any car seat/stroller combos for toddler age. You can check the car seat at the first check in desk at the airport, but I know there are risks to that too.. or you can check it at the gate. Also, Uber (I think) is coming out with services that have car seats... I don't know the details and I don't know if they've started yet, but you could look into it!

Check your carseat at the gate (it's free!). Use the stroller through the airport, then check it at the gate (also free). And make sure you have lots of wipes and extra clothes for you and your LO! Mine has gotten diarrhea both times we've flown, so I learned that one the hard way!
