My daughter is almost two years old and has been co-sleeping with us for most of her life. She has gotten to the point where she will sleep without me next to her, but we are ready to set up her toddler bed and let her sleep there. Any tips on getting a toddler adjusting to sleeping in their own bed? TIA. 😊

It's like ripping off a band aid. Just do it! There might be a couple of rough nights, but she'll get it.

My two year old has co-slept with us his whole life. I started putting him down for his naps in his own bed and eventually started putting him to sleep at night in his bed. Reading to him and turning on a sound machine really helped with the transition.

Make sure and have a bedtime routine that you stick too so they know what to expect and just a lot of patience!

Oh Lord! We co-sleep because our living situation doesn't allow us to get our kids their own beds. I sleep with my kids in the bed and my hubby sleeps on the couch. It's a temp situation but I'm worried my oldest is going to get too used to sleeping with me.

How do you keep them from getting up and leaving their rooms? Lock them in? Baby gate across the door? Leave door open and hope for the best??

I'll try that, thanks for the advice!

It's been like that for us too, for a while I was sleeping with our daughter and my husband would sleep by himself, but now we've switched and I usually end up sleeping by myself while my husband sleeps with our daughter. I thought we would never get her to sleep anywhere else but our bed but she's slowly getting used to sleeping her own.
