Anyone have great ideas for birthdays in this crazy time of coronavirus and quarantines? My son turns 2 at the end of April & we are trying to figure out how to make it a special day in light of being stuck at home.

I think if you make the day special for him, it will be special, quarantine or not. Surprise him with balloons, a special breakfast, do something fun and different during the day and videochat with family.

This is a great question! I think a good idea would be to have family send gifts through the mail to him (they could order from Amazon and send it to your address) and you can wrap them up. Or, if you're comfortable with people dropping off already wrapped gifts at the door, you could ask family to do that as well. Then you can do a video call or facetime with family when he opens his gifts. I would still get a cake and candles and facetime that as well!

As a 2 year old I'm sure he will feel like it is still a super special day, even though you're stuck at home.

I feel SO bad for the kids who have birthdays at this time! My niece's birthday is coming up and she is pretty bummed. But I feel like birthdays can still be super special at home with just the family. Maybe set up a day-long FaceTime schedule so he can talk to lots of friends and family, and you can still get a cake and candles at the store! Let him pick out a new movie to stream and maybe make this year's gift(s) extra special.
