One of the most priceless things ever is to keep a simple journal of all their interesting and touching remarks and comments.

Even if you only make 4 entries a year it adds up and is fun to look back and reflect on their changing perspectives.

When I write tidbits in my kids journal I always picture my kids reading it one day.I make record of all the sweet nicknames I had for her while she was in utero and the little songs I used to sing while I was pregnant with her. Just thinking about it gives me tingles.

That sounds like a fun thing to do, though I don't know if I could commit to it lol.

Oh my god yes! Make it into a scrapbook so you can be even more creative!

Thats a great idea! Im Gonna start one right away! Omg I can just see reading them back in the future!!

I totally wish I did this with my first child. We started a baby book for her, but I didnt keep up with it very well after she turned one.

I plan to do better this time around!

My mother kept a journal for me from the time I was born until my 18th birthday. It was the best gift I ever received. I started one for my little one right after he was born.

I wish I had started doing that before I had my son. There are so many things he has done already that are absolutely hilarious. I guess now is a better time then ever to start!

I love that you shared this! I have been keeping journals my whole life and started one for my son when I found out I was pregnant. My mother did the same for me and gave it to me as a high school graduation gift. Nothing can compare to that gift!

The saying is "Keep a journal and one day it will keep you."

I love this idea and I love how all the cool memories will come rushing back when you read old entries. Journaling is also a good mental health strategy!

I need to do this! I always say I’m going to and never get around to it.

I wrote a letter to my daughter on her first day of kindergarten and included everything she told me about her first day. I have pictures and awards since then in this little book and I’m hoping to give it to her when she graduates.

We write down all our daughters funny sayings. Looking back we still crack up!

Betty posted this 07 May 2019

I really want to do this, and always say “oh I should write that down” but in practice I totally fail

This was one of the reason I created a YouTube channel. Lookin back on my 4 year when he was so much younger is PRICELESS.

I love this idea! Another idea if you aren't sure you can commit to finding the time to hand write things is to create an e-mail address for them, and then send them e-mails.

Just this week my son told me he was going to marry me and so told him I was already married to his Dad. He didn’t seem too concerned. That needs to go in as an entry because it was so sweet and funny.

That's a great idea..  I'll keep this in mind for when my baby reaches that age. Sometimes, even now, I think of keeping a journal to record little milestones.

Kayleigh posted this 09 June 2019

Such a great idea! I kept one for my older daughter and love pulling it out sometimes to remember those memories. I wish I had done one for my younger daughter too!

Tracy posted this 11 June 2019

This is such a great idea. After my little one was born, he was such a challenging baby, that I completely forgot about doing any part of the memory book. I just started working on it once he turned 1! This is such a great idea!

I agree so much with this! I wish I was more consistent . I did this a lot when I was younger. I do want to journal now especially that I have my daughter. It'll be so awesome to pass these along in the future when she's older no matter how personal I get. It's important for them to know that I went through some of the same things they're probably going through <3
