I had group B strep as did half of the pregnant population I believe. Of course I delivered in hospital but hopefully home birth doesn’t affect that adversely. It’s fairly common.

Both my children I had natural birth . But eathier one good long the baby is heathy ...
I have no clue, but maybe speak to your doctor. Explain your health plan and maybe also talk to a midwife?
I did not have GBS with my first pregnancy, however; with the current pregnancy (8 years later) I was told I have GBS. It scared me because I knew nothing about and kind of still don't other than that they do give you antibiotics prior to delivery while you are in hospital. I am still not certain if I have to have a c-section or will be able to have a natural vaginal birth either.
I believe many moms have this. They will treat you with an IV abx during labor, I am not sure if they will do this with a homebirth or if you would have to deliver at hospital.
I have wondered about this. This is my first child and I had no idea about this strep b test until I was given the lay out of my appointments. I know they swab you but what exactly happens if you do test positive?
I currently have GBS and it is the first time I had ever heard of it, so needless to say, it kind of scared me. But after some education and seeing discussions such as this one, I know that all should be okay. However; for me, I don't know if I will be having a vaginal delivery with this current pregnancy or not because my 1st one, was an emergency c-section.
Yes, and they also did the antibiotic treatment on my daughters eyes.
I have never heard of any experience with an at home birth, I would consult your midwife!
Yes... I've heard of people being healed from it, but I couldn't find anything. I had it with 2 of my babies. It is inconvenient because you have to be at the hospital for 4 hours when you're in labor to get the full round of antibiotics.
I don't know much about this, but I know for a fact that you can birth at home without antibiotics if you have GBS. My friend had it and birthed at home with a midwife.
