Has anyone had a gender reveal party that someone else planned for you? Looking for different ideas on how to reveal to everyone and MYSELF!  I've seen balloons coming out of a box, the cake color when sliced in it.. but I really want something unique and over the top to wow my guests!!

I did a gender reveal for my best friend. And we used silly string for the reveal. We covered all the cans in Duct Tape so no one could see the color and when we said 'GO' they sprayed the string. Mom and dad were in light pink and blue, We used pink and blue cupcakes. So really we kept everything pretty simple and lots of pink/blue stuff.

Do you guys have anything specific to you. We have a some family and friends do th8ngs that specifically apply to them, ie. my cousins is a pilot and they live in a small town so they had a plane crop dust the reveal color. That was pretty cool. I had a friend who they both played basketball and that’s how the met. So they put some kind of powder on the basket ball goal and when they ball hit it it exploded. I’ve seen people kick a football as well. I’m sure you guys will come up with a great idea!

My cousin did darts. They had a big board with black balloons and 1 had the color in it. All the guest got a chance to pop the balloons. It was different and cute.

Julia posted this 24 August 2018

They’re so fun! We had one and it was balloons which were black, so when we popped them out came colored powder-life flour with the color of the gender. Both of us were covered of course but it was a lot of fun! Plus we were hoping for a boy, and it was!

Belinda posted this 25 August 2018

We got a pinata filled with the gender confetti for a friend and had her burst it open! It was quite a lot of fun! The decorations were latin themed.

Ashley posted this 25 August 2018

I love the pinata idea! I think it's essential to a have a good photographer present to not only capture the reveal itself...but the facial expressions!

These are some really creative ideas! I love the pilot dusting.. HOW COOL! I didn't do any gender reveal or anything. I can't keep a secret! I told everyone I knew the day we found out the sex. LOL

Hilaria posted this 26 August 2018

I like the regular cutting of the cake to reveal the color. It is basic but less hassle.

Brianna posted this 26 August 2018

The other ideas are super cute, but I'm so lazy. LOL! Then I'd get busy with work and just call Publix for the cake! LOL!

Yes having a photographer around would be awesome. Everyone tries to get the best pictures they can but it is difficult to capture everything unless you really know what you're doing!

I've seen a lot of people do the balloon thing, filling a black balloon with either smaller colored balloons, confetti, and powder.

I am with Hilaria on this one...cake cutting to reveal color seems easy enough. The Pinata is cool too.

My husband and I took 2 pictures...one for a boy one for a girl with paint on my belly. I wore a white shirt and he put his hands on my belly that were covered in paint then lifted so there were either pink or blue hand prints. Then once we knew which it was we sent the picture to everyone with the name on it

I too have a hard time keeping a secret so once I find out I tell everyone. You’ll figure something out that fits for you guys. Keep us posted on what you do.

Linda posted this 29 August 2018

I don't believe I could keep a secret either. I'd want to know and I'd want everyone else to know too so we can just gush over the fact of how cute he or she is!!

These are such fun parties!!  We did this and it was so fun being in suspense and having everyone guessing.  We did the balloons coming out of the box.  My sister decorated the box (she is very artsy and crafty) and we had our friends and family wear the color of the gender they thought was going to be revealed.  Lots of fun foods with fun themes tied to the party and games!  We ended up having our dog in on the action and she pulled the string to the box that lifted the lids and let out the BLUE balloons!!

Oh my gosh having someone wear the color shirt of what they thought is an awesome idea. Definitely incorporating this some how!!!! I did see one things where they got team boy and team girl sunglasses so people could pick what they thought as they were coming in and then that was also used as their gift for coming.

We had cookies made and tagged them with the name of our daughter and gave them to our parents and grandparents and siblings. At first they were confused slightly because we did it out of NOWHERE because we wanted it to be a surprise...it worked!

I don't know how musical your family is, but I have seen a lot of really cute ideas where a few people put together a dance to a song that reveals the gender. They seem really fun.

I think no matter what you do, your guests will be "wow'd."   I had a friend do cupcakes for mine and she recorded herself opening the envelope before she made them.  Then we had all our family make similar "guessing" videos.  At the party, they blindfolded me and I bit into the cupcake to reveal the filling.   Then they took my blindfold off so we were all surprised together.  It was really fun.

Jackie posted this 14 October 2018

I actually let my son do the "reveal"  - we videotaped him with a big black balloon.  My husband popped it and it was filled with pick silly string.  He was thrilled and thought it was so fun.  We then sent the video to family.

I did a gender reveal for my best friend and we used balloons with pink confetti for the reveal.

Jane posted this 15 October 2018

I've never had one with my kids, but I think if it's around Halloween you could do some super cute craftsy stuff like a jack o'lantern that lights up a certain color or colored candy apples. I've seen the dart reveal a few times with close friends. It's really cool to see in person. I've seen colored fireworks as well.

You could also pay someone to make a movie trailer of sorts. Maybe include a few snippets of the parents, grandparents, ultrasounds, etc then at the end "Baby Boy Coming 2019" or something similar. It'd be something super cute you could hold onto over the years.

Use Etsy! They have tons of gender reveal ideas  we use a baseball ball some friends used their car and another used the typical ballon and others use water guns with colored water and they sprayed each other

Grecia posted this 19 October 2018

We did, we didn’t even know the gender! Our doctor sent the info to the person who did our confetti balloon. It was very exciting all our friends and family were there and I think it was fun and emotional for everyone

We did. My husband loves gulf so we did ours with a gulf ball at our golf course all of our friends and family were there.

It was an amazing experience I recommend having one.

The darts idea is a great way to get people involved! If you don't mind getting messy using paint in water guns can be fun. Fireworks could be really nice, just not sure how that process works.

I've never had one planned for me or thrown one myself. I've seen some cool ones online though. I love popping a balloon with colored confetti or throwing water balloons with colored water.

Julie posted this 12 November 2018

One cute but unique idea I saw  that wasn't gender reveal, more of a pregnancy reveal was someone writing it on a pizza box and then "delivering" it to family and friends. My favorite gender reveal is the balloons and cupcakes, anything you can use to kind of see everyone's reaction is great.

olivia posted this 13 November 2018

Do people ever consider maybe finding out just between you and your Significant other? It can be an emotional time!

Tiara posted this 15 November 2018

This one is a little more geared toward a guy but a few of my brothers friends knew the gender of the baby as I let them in on it and we were going to do his gender reveal for him, nd wifes family. So my brothers friends each got the same blue colored paint balls, my brother padded himself up closed his eyes and waited, (we video taped) and they let them rip. It was fun, and seeing that mess of blue..etc. Was just so awesome. Obviously wife did not part take due to being pregnant but she got to watch and see him get hit, and of course love it because of the happy occasion.

Nelufat posted this 16 November 2018

I will go with the cake idea! Looks like the easiest with less work.

Makayla posted this 18 November 2018

Here is one to get your guests involved. Fill balloons with blue confetti and pink confetti, leave some balloons empty and stick them on a board. Have your guests names in a jar and draw their names. Have them pop the balloons. Whichever the gender is should have 4 of that color confetti and the other with 3 of the other color confetti. Let them pop the balloons until of course you get the fourth balloon of the same color confetti.

Mary Katherine posted this 18 November 2018

We were very basic and did the cake cutting with the inside of the cake (blue) for the gender. There are so many new ways to do it but the look on my family faces - the cake worked out great!

Darla posted this 19 November 2018

The best is the guns shooting the baloons that are black.... Out comes the color of gender in water died with blue or pink...

Tia posted this 19 November 2018

I love and have seen where they boil 11 eggs and leave one raw. Color 6 blue and 6 pink. The raw one is the gender of the baby. Mom and dad take turns smashing them on their forehead to see who gets the raw egg and that reveals the gender lol

It is hilarious!

I saw a video of  woman popping a balloon to reveal the color of the sex, but nothing was in the balloon. so a family member said something funny to make everyone turn around, and her hair was the color of the sex. it has so funny!

Lilly posted this 16 February 2019

My sister handed me the envelope and I went to Party City thinking I would get some confetti and balloons and would have to do it all manually. But when I looked in the baby shower aisle they had balloons with confetti that were available for purchase that said "boy or girl." I picked them up and for my niece I got her Playdoh and lollipops in the 'color' and had her open it as her parents were popping the balloon. It was more of a quiet reveal but it was definitely a special moment.

Aubree posted this 06 March 2019

Did you see the raw egg challenge gender reveal? They had 6 pink and 6 blue eggs and 11 were hard boiled. Mom and dad took turns cracking them over their head and the stress of the possibility of a raw egg and finding out the sex was hilarious!

abigail posted this 06 March 2019

the most extreme cool thing I've saw was fireworks, another time i saw people having certain lights in cities change color at a certain time

Julie posted this 06 March 2019

I never thought about a gender reveal party.  I always just told everybody whenever I found out.  But a party does sound like a really cool idea.

Dye some eggs pink and some blue...all hardboiled except for the one of the baby's gender. Alternate b/w you and your husband until one of you literally gets egg on your face!

I've seen someone do a gender reveal where the dad did a burn out of a sports car tires...and it burst the smoke/fog in a pink cloud...revealing their babies gender. The fog/smoke was so big and huge! But it was kind of loud for a bit. I guess it really depends on if you want a gentle type of reveal or a loud party type of reveal. Either way, I thought this was very sweet in how they did their reveal because it was very clear that they were all pumped and excited!

Roxy posted this 24 September 2019

We did a BaByQ. Everything was outside and we decorated pink and blue and then I had a friend in Florida who logged into my patient portal to see the gender and ordered confetti cannons and sent them to me in the mail and we set them off. It was amazing.
