1 years old for a toothache.

The pediatrician checks my children's teeth out at all of the appointments and indicated that unless they noticed anything- just to wait until 3 year olds. Sometimes it can be a little traumatic if they don't understand, and the doctor felt confident there were no dental issues up until that point.

My doctor suggested the same 2-3 years old.

I have heard as soon as they all come in. I took mine around a year old. My 3 yr old granddaughter screams! its awful. Any ideas?

We went after she turned 2, which is what our PCP recommended.  We use a pediatric dentist and she sits in my lap for the dental exam.  They make it fun and it is not a scary process for them at all.

My PCP recommended taking each boy when they were 2. I waited until 2 1/2 with my younger son because he went through a biter stage and I didn't want him to nip the dentist like a little dachshund. 😩 Definitely stick with a pediatric dentist. They make the experience way better for both you and your little one.

I took my son right after his 2nd birthday to a pediatric dentist. She was great with him! Everyone was super cheerful and it didn't feel like the dentist at all. I wish adult dentists were like that! lol!

Between 2 and 3 is right on the money. The first appointment is pretty basic. Usually your little one sits on your lap, opens up, and they take a quick peep inside. Like the other posters said, go to a pediatric dentist. They know how to handle little ones and keep things upbeat.

All mine went for the first time around 2 1/2. I found a great pediatric dentist by me that I love to pieces. She's always so gentle and fun with them. I always get them a little ready beforehand by always asking me to show me their teeth after they brushed/say ah/etc. Makes it more normal when they head in and are asked to do so.

I took my daughter exactly on her 2nd birthday. My primary recommended between 2 and 2 and half so I made the appointment on her birthday so I wouldn't forget. lol

I took my oldest when she turned 3, and we had a great experience.

My oldest son got teeth really early so I took him at 2.

We went at 2 because he had all of teeth. We went again at 2.5. He loved it both times.

My dentist suggests 2, and every 6 months after that.

I still haven't 😁  I had a major fever of the dentist as a kid so I've been so worried about it. But I need to find a good dentist for him asap!

Well sad to say that I didn't send my children to the dentist until 5. Thankfully, nothing went wrong before then and they all have perfect dental health. I was worried at first and I do have my own phobias about the dentist, but I made sure I found a highly recommended dentist for my children and they LOVE going! They also get check-ups at school as a part of the public school system dental prevention program.

Our pediatrician told us to take our daughter when she turned one and we did.
