Exercising During Pregnancy

Any of you ladies exercised during your pregnancy? If so, what worked for you?

I try to do some walking but I get really tired and I feel so sleepy 24/7.

I feel you on being sleepy ALL THE TIME. Yoga has been amazing. When I just push myself to get on the mat, I always feel better and more energized after!

After working all day and being exhausted from that, I found it really difficult to motivate for exercise. I agree that even walking was more than I could handle. But I did a lot of walking around at work and tried to go to prenatal yoga on weekends. That's pretty low impact and theres a lot of emphasis on stretching and stuff that really helps the aches, pains, stress, and discomfort.

I live for the elliptical! Sometimes I do free weights too, but nothing too crazy.

Even if all you do is walking that is good! Its probably best to check with your doctor before you start a new routine.

I think it depends on how active you were before. If you were very active, it's great to continue exercising and modify based on what your doctor says. If you were not active before, walking is a great option to get started with.

I started with lots of walking, because I was so sick. Then I went back to running (I was a runner before), but had to stop around 6 months because my joints hurt so bad after! Then I started taking spin classes and could continue those until I delivered!

I exercised daily before pregnancy, so my doctor said I was okay to continue. I did a mixture of aerobic classes and piYo. My favorite gym class was spin. I was able to continue morning spin classes past my due date (baby came a week late). I loved it because I could modify for myself. For example, it was too hard to stand later on in pregnancy, so I just sat on the bike the whole class.

That is a great start! If you do it everyday I think you are doing a great job! 

I did not get the chance to. But I walk every morning 15 to 20 min at most.

Dina - if I may - i think you should try and do a little something. it will really help out later on. For backpain and veins. It doesn't have to be a lot - just a 20 min walk. Places like the YMCA have inside walking tracks if you don't want to be outside. 

I had no workout.  I admit it, I am too lazy for it nor have motivation.   My mind says to do it but my legs don't do anything but want to sleep and lay in bed.

I decided to just work on my arms and legs and just do weights and then light walking. Cardio felt not awesome but weights felt great. It got me back into my body. You could also check out Bloom Method! It's online.

I was honestly too exhausted or sick during my pregnancy so I did not exercise much. I did bounce on my ball and go on walks very often so that helped. Luckily I lost most of my weight gain pretty quickly.

I walked and walked and walked. Annnd out of 3 pregnancies...  the pregancy/delivery that was packed with the most exercise was just the easiest one.

I exercised up until the day I gave birth.  I will honestly say pushing it helped me a lot with my second!  My first I didn't exercise and was so exhausted pushing, with my second it was like he slid out lol
