My 3 year old is still throwing massive tantrums. Besides time out (which we use) can anyone share some creative tips or strategies that may help us?

Do you try to talk it out? Usually, a tantrum is just a build up of emotions that they don't know how to digest.

We started removing some of my 4 year olds favorite things. Because he's older he doesn't have tantrums as often, but we found this to be helpful. Don't act up if you don't want a consequence. He knows to try to stop, think, and process what he's doing before he does it!

Harsh realities have worked for us. For example if he tantrums at the park and we try to calm him down and it's not working, we leave immediately. Same with restaurants, stores, etc. He is starting to realize that when he acts that way, nothing good comes from it. Definitely seeing less tantrums now.
