Is coffee ok to drink while pregnant? I've heard a lot of controversy over this and was not sure if I should stay away from it or not.

As long as you don't overdo it, it will be fine!

i drank peppermint mochas from starbucks to help with nausea. Someone on Instagram called me selfish for having a bottled almond milk starbucks drink. I don't see an issue with it as long as you're being mindful and aren't drinking a pot of coffee a day.

Everyone has an opinion about this. I had 2 cups of coffee (not espresso or anything strong) per day when I was pregnant and my baby is happy and healthy and strong.

Hi, I have asked my dietitian, doctor and nurse about this and they said its alright to limit caffeine intake below 200mg per day.

I drank coffee while pregnant but only what my doctor recommended. I usually did once in the morning! However this was only after my avoidance of coffee ended due to an aversion in the first trimester.

My doc said keep it at two cups a day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon (or a soda!). That's what I stuck to. Worked out fine.

I've read all sorts of things on this but the general recommendation seems to be to keep your caffeine consumption limited to a cup or two a day, assuming we're talking about coffee's caffeine content anyway. I think bottom line its up to you based on your doctor's advice.

I did one cup of half reg and half decaf with my first.  I didn't feel quite so deprived that way.

I didn't have caffeine for 36 weeks now, omg I can't wait to have my first coffee. I've heard a lot of controversies too and I decided to stay away from it.

I drank coffee while pregnant and while im breastfeeding. I'd die without it while chasing a toddler to!

My doc said a cup a day was fine when I was pregnant and breastfeeding, and thank goodness! I'm not sure I could give up my coffee.

I was told under 200 mg a day. I got caffeine headaches if i tried to cut it out all together earlier on so I usually had a cup of coffee or a tea around 11 am and a smaller one later in the day. By the end of my pregnancy it was keeping baby awake and active later than I liked in my very stretched belly so I cut it out. That first sip of Dr. Pepper after I had her though was AH-MAZING😂

This is something to ask your doctor, but I drank a cup every morning and was fine.

I stopped drinking energy drinks when we were trying to get pregnant. I still drank a soda or a coffee a day to get me through. I have bad migraines and no caffeine does not work for me.

Both of my OB's (a specialist and not) said that caffeine in moderation is fine.

whitney posted this 13 March 2020

I think it's okay to have a cup a day! That is what I have done through both of my pregnancies, and it is acceptable per APAs guidelines. The midwives I see also said it is fine.

I limited my caffeine, but still had a cup some days. My doctor said that was fine. It's all about moderation.

There's definitely a limit with caffeine, you just need to make sure to not exceed that. I started out giving up coffee, but started drinking a cup a day after my first trimester. I was way too tired at work without it!

a lot of folks say some caffeine is ok but i decided to quit and i feel fine

If you're a coffee drinker, one to two cups won't hurt. if in doubt, try decaf? I would worry about the sugar in drink intake lol
