Hi All!  This is more of a informational post rather than a question! And then of course, you all can add your opinions!

Our baby had THE WORST diaper rash...I felt so bad...her butt had open, bleeding sores ALL the time...it didn't matter what we used, changed, or didn't use...

The doctor basically told us she needed to be naked on her butt...

We invested in a box of puppy pee pads! It WORKED!!! I was floored! We let her lay on that for as long as she would and wouldn't you know it!? No mess and the sores healed.

Has anyone had this experience?

When I worked at a daycare in the nursery so many families used y Boudreaux Butt Paste. I use coconut oil with my kids.

Bordeaux  butt paste

Ok this is weird but my dr said that when a baby is teething, the extra saliva they swallow can cause a bad diaper rash. For that he said to mix cornstarch with plain liquid antacid to make a paste and use that until the rash clears up

Boudreaux Butt Paste is the best! A thick layer with every change, a bath every day, and some naked time to dry out.

Yes! My pediatrician called it "air time"! He suggested doing it outside to avoid a mess, but I guess puppy pads work too!

YES!  Air is good for the bottom! Cloth diapers also breathe a little bit better. There was a time I feared I'd have to go that route.

I tell every new mom this!

let me run around naked for 5 min after diaper changes! that changed my life!

Yes- being naked fixes it! Take them outside, too, it's easier to clean up and a little sun shine will do wonders to their bums *obvi only a few minutes so the dont burn

When the weather is warmer it's also great to let them be outside naked and get a teeny bit of sun on their bums.  Totally helps clear things up.

Butt Paste is the best and I've got mine on hand.  Letting it air out also helps and then make sure your water temps at bathtime are soothing temps because that can hurt if they have the rash really bad.

I have not heard of this , the best I have ever used for diaper rash is breast milk and if I didn't have that it was for sure always hands down the clear winner was BAG BALM, it is a game changer and I always put it on my daughter for every change no diaper rash issues at all.

I am going to keep puppy pads on hand!! that is a great idea. I swear by zinc oxide for any rash butt the puppy pads for naked butt time is a good idea!

Kim posted this 22 October 2018

That's so great that it worked out! And I've heard others swear by that Boudreaux's butt paste before, I've seen it at Whole Foods. I will say that I hope she doesn't have to deal with any scarring. I unfortunately did and still have them - not exactly the reminder you want from childhood 😒

Oh, next time try Boudreaux Butt Paste if it's just a little red. My friend swears by it!

Butt Paste is the BEST!

With my first child at 10 months she caught the bacteria salmonela and after being hospitilized and having diarreah for almost a week she had the worst rash. We would shower her and leave her butt naked for a while and apply a prescribe butt cream that zinc oxide and it worked wonders for her. it was a very difficult time for us.

I believe she is referring to the pads that puppies use to pee on.  They go on the floor for the puppies.  I believe in her case she would put it down for the baby to use it and at the same time the baby's butt is naked.  That's what I understand from it.

I have never heard of puppee pad. I wonder if we have it here in our area.

Thanks for sharing! I haven't experienced it that bad, poor baby. The puppy pads sound like a great idea though, I will have to keep them in mind! I do know baby powder works great for a lot of things, but some baby skin just isn't good for it. Does anyone know if theres baby powder for sensitive skin?
