When did you start to wean your baby off the boob? My son is 11 months and strictly breastfed. I need to start thinking about getting him on whole milk! He wakes up so much during the night to nurse still and I need help.

My son kind of weaned himself just before age 2. If you don't have to wean them, they will let you know when they are ready.

They can have dairy from a year on. My daughter stopped nursing on her own at nine months. She is supplemented with formula but will be changed to whole milk at a year old.

I feel your pain! My little guy nursed until around 18 months and the nighttime feedings were the WORST. Around 16 months I stopped nursing him at naptime and shortly after that he lost interest in night time feedings! I would definitely recommend cutting out naptime feedings if he still nurses then & maybe that will help you get some sleep at least!

You can start whole milk after 12 months & start by mixing it with breastmilk. Put more breastmilk than milk in the beginning then slowly increase the amount of whole milk as baby tolerates it.

I start to wean around 1-1.5 years old. By this time my girls are eating 3x a day along with snacks.

If your son is almost 1, I'd suggest weaning towards real foods vs milk. Children after 1 don't technically need milk, especially if they are receiving nutrients elsewhere.
