Should you let your one year old eat their first store bought birthday cake? Should I be worried about the ingredients?

I did a store bought cake for everyone and then I made cupcakes for her "smash" cake, and for the kiddos. You can always make your own cake if your concerned! After 6 months they pretty much can have almost anything!

Does it matter what kind of birthday cake? I'm not an over-the-top mommy but my little one loves bubble guppies.

We bought two cupcakes from the Jewel bakery for our twins. One loved it, one did not! My son was a little lactose, but he handled it fine.

Your little will be just fine with a little cake. But you could definitely make your own if you are worried!

The birthday babe should be alright. If you are that worried, you can make your own cake or hire someone you know and trust to do it. I made the first five birthday cakes my oldest had (I am an avid baker though).

After the age of 1, I was told by my pediatrician that anything goes!
