My doctor is saying that I might be on bed rest and I'm only 24 weeks along.  Has anyone here been through this?  What should I expect?

I’ve been on bed rest since 26 weeks, i’m now 34 weeks and I can’t wait to be done.

It really depends! I was on home bedrest and hospital bedrest. Hospital bedrest was obviously more strict.  I had gestational diabetes and pre-eclampsia. I had to stay very relaxed in order to avoid my blood pressure rising. I couldn't leave the bed except to visit the restroom. The first couple weeks was great (yay no work and all the TV)! Then I became restless. Thankfully I had a lot of visitors and I requested a lot of activities and my husband bought me a laptop so I could keep myself occupied. My bedrest started when I was at 28 weeks and I was induced at week 37.

I was on bedrest the first time for the last month. It honestly was nice because I was over working myself and needed it.  I was more relaxed at delivery.

Thank you for that! Most everyone is telling me to just relax and rest.  I'm a busy bee so it is hard for me to just sit when I know there are things to be done.  I'll find out more at my appointment this week.  I did take it easy over the weekend and I am feeling more rejuvenated this week (only Tuesday though)!

Just depends on what for. I was put on bedrest for IUGR, and was told to eat and relax. I hated it at the time, but, now looking back- I really should have relaxed and enjoyed it. It was hard to when i was so stressed. Good Luck mama. Get sleep NOW!
