Curious how your chose your baby’s name. Did it have a special meaning? Were they named after anyone special? Mine is Abigail Patricia. Patricia is after my husbands mother who passed when he was 13. And Abigail means Father’s Joy.

Sunshine posted this 24 August 2018

So funny enough, my name is Sunshine because my grandmother always told my mom ‘Good morning Sunshine’. So when she was growing up she said she was going to name her child Sunshine so it would be a play on words. LOL! I always get asked if my parents were hippies or something... nope just a little odd! And I never find my name on ANYTHING! Lol!

My oldest daughter was named after her grandma Julia (my mother) and my youngest daughter was picked just because I like the sound of it Dina which later I learned it is form of Hebrew Dinah.

Becky posted this 24 August 2018

I was named Becky because that's the name my mom always used for her dolls when she was a kid. LOL! And its not Rebecca, its just Becky. I love hearing others people's name stories. My daughter is Jaycee. For the initials J (my mother is Jamie) and C (my dad is Clarence).

My baby's name is Michael Alfredo, both his grandpa's names. Its our way of honoring their memories

Katy posted this 24 August 2018

My son is JR so he got his dads name. However, if we were going to have a girl the name would have been Grace LouAnn. Grace because I just love that name.. LouAnn because it was the middle names of both our moms combined. His mom's middle name is Lou and mine is Ann so they just would have fit together good I thought! Maybe next time

We were Team Green the first time (is that term still used?LOL!) and we each chose a name for our own genders. We are doing the same this time as well. The middle names will be a variation of his dad or my mom.

Since my husband already had an "Elizabeth"....the name I had picked out prior to even meeting him (it's my mom's middle name) I literally had no idea what else I wanted! I had my heart set on Elizabeth since I can remember. It's timeless..classic...
So, I had to settle for her middle name to be Elizabeth and since I had no back ups...my husband liked Isabella. I went with it since I had no argument...LOL...but now it definitely suits her!

I have twins - one of each so picking names was fun! My son is Elijah Rhett - because we just absolutely loved the names. My daughter is Sophia Grace- again we loved the name, and Grace is actually my mothers name. The flow sounded really pretty and at the same time it’s heartfelt.

We are leaning towards a Disney name, Aurora or Phillip, since we are Disney people. LOL! The middle names will be family names.

We named our son in honor of my husband's father Joseph. We put a spin on it and used Jonah. His middle name is Alexander. It's one of my all-time favorite names that I can't use because my close friend did.

Haylee posted this 28 August 2018

Liam...my son will be named Liam, a friend dream that i got pregnant and called me...coincidentally we were trying then. So i decided to choose the name she heard in her dream!

My sons name is Lucas Russell, which the middle name is after my grandfathers who had passed away. My daughter will be Quinn Clarke, and there’s no meaning behind that, we just really liked the names and couldn’t decide the order!

Emma posted this 28 August 2018

My oldest has his dads middle name which happens to be the middle name of my grandpa as well. The next one will probably just be a name that we like. No real meaning behind it.

We incorporated our grandparents' names into our child's name.  We also like old names and tried to go with something that would grow with our child and still sound great when she was an adult!  So the name is not only something we like but it also has a special meaning!  Choosing a name is hard but go with what you like.  There will always be a thousand different opinions about the name you choose and there will always be some who love it and some who don't.

My dads name and my husbands grandfathers name were the same so we wanted to use that- it was a little bit of both of us and it super special to them. My other son is a junior. (Not by choice, I lost that battle!) lol

Kalee posted this 28 August 2018

My son's names are after thier Dad and Grandfather.Edwards and Bruce.  We need right from the start those were going to be the names.

Sandra posted this 29 August 2018

This is going to be my first baby... I still have plenty of time to think about names for my little one, but I am almost positive I am going to be naming the baby after one of my family members. It is all going to depend on if the baby is a boy or a girl.

Jackie posted this 29 August 2018

I'm a huge fan of traditional, older names....ones that stand the test of time. For example: John, Michael, Marie, Mary, Laura, etc...
I feel like I would get tired of a something that was "trendy" and then I'd be scared that I named my kid that! LOL This is not to say I haven't heard some great names that I never heard before....but when I think of what to name my baby...it has to be something I can say for the rest of my life without changing my mind! I change my mind a lot!

I LOVE the name Vivian, it's timeless and classic. My family thinks it sounds like a stuck up name, why I don't know but it's just boy after boy here.. No real rhyme or reason to the names we picked they just sounded like they fit when they arrived.

Myah posted this 29 August 2018

When you have a slight obsession with Gilmore Girls you name your daughter Lorelai. Then you realize that's like your Aunt's name Lorelei (pronounce Lorli) and everyone thinks that is who you named your daughter after just changed the spelling when really the thought never even crossed your name that they are so similar. DOH

Becca posted this 30 August 2018

We have named our kids after different family members that have meant something special to us and their middle names we have created to have special meaning to us.

Josie posted this 30 August 2018

My son's name is Noah Justin. We loved the name Noah from the Bible (we're christians) & its only right he gets my husband's first name as his middle name since it is his first boy.

Josie posted this 30 August 2018

This is so beautiful! Congrats on your miracle baby

I like the name Milagros...meaning miracle because i never thought i could get pregnant after trying for more than 2 years!

I adore nature names. Anything floral or outdoorsy is right up my alley. Growing up Megan in the height of the Megan/Meagan/Meghan trend steered me towards more out-there names.

I have a Violet and a Willow.

Boy favorites -  Phoenix, River, Brooks, Talon

Girl favorites - Meadow, Sage, Rosemary, Aspen, Fawn

For middle names, I stick with family names.

Katherine posted this 01 September 2018

I love traditional names that are easily recognized but not too common.

I chose Nora for my daughter. It's growing in popularity, easy to spell, common enough that most people have heard of it.

I love Pearl for a girl and Isaac for a boy

Maya posted this 01 September 2018

I named my eldest Wesley because it's common but not too popular. My youngest is Russell (Russ) after my husband's father. I think Wes and Russ are similar, but go together well.

I tend to lean towards names that everyone has heard but don't hear everyday.

My 11 year old was tricky. We had "Alec" picked out the entire pregnancy because it seemed like a great fit. I had him and he did not look like an Alec. Calling him it actually made me cringe. We sat there for a day and a half scrambling to look at names because we had no back up. My husband called him "Thomas" and that was it. He looks like a Thomas. Acts like a Thomas. Perfect fit.

With my current pregnancy we have a list of names we like that we're bringing to the hospital so we're not blindsided again.

I tend to like traditional names though I do have some "out there" names on my list as well.

Such an important and big job since their name lasts forever! We used older names and family names for our kids. Quirky names just don't seem right for adults!

My husband and I have been squirreling names for a few years now. We like classic Italian/romantic names.

Current favorites: Rafael, Matteo, Valentina, and Estella

I love the name Lucas. It sounds so strong. I believe your boy is a strong and smart boy. That's my first choice but I went for Michael.

Pamela posted this 10 September 2018

We did David the third! My husband is a Jr, so we carried on the tradition. If we are ever blessed with a girl it will be Eloise Jean. My mothers middle name is Louise and his mothers middle name and my grandmothers first name was Jean.

Emilia posted this 12 September 2018

My children were all name after their grand parents names.  Either they carry their first or middle name.  We just wanted to keep passing down our grand parents names as tradition.

Jackie posted this 6 days ago

I have chosen unique first names and then pulled in a family name as the middle each time.  A good combination of traditional and modern.  I want them to get to be their own individuals but with ties to our families.

I always wanted a son named Jack since i was little so his name was a simple pick for me. With baby #2 we both created lists that we initially went over and vetoed names straight away. We have a few contenders left that we will choose from. I found my names for my list in baby name books. I tend to like classic names so it's been a breeze.

My oldest son's name is Liam. The meaning of Liam is Strong-willed warrior and protector -

Guerrero de voluntad fuerte y protector.

. Love this name, it definitely fits him.

My husband and I both made lengthy lists from baby name websites. We read them aloud with our last name and dwindled the list down to final contenders for each sex. We're making the final call after the baby is here. We want to see what the little bean looks like 😊
