Anyone have a baby before getting a dog? How long did you wait before getting a pet? Is there a breed that is better towards babies? I am afraid of the dog hurting the baby.

We have four dogs, all boxers! They are great with our kids, and are always friendly. I think it all depends on the owner and how they are raised. If you allow a dog to get away with things then that is what they will do.

I had a pomeranian before my baby. His dad brought a pitbull when we moved in together when my son was a year. A we got a cat when my son was about a year and a half. They all get along, with my son and with each other lol. Pomeranians aren't normally considered good with kids, same with most little dogs. However I think it depends on you as the owner and the natural temperament of the dogs.

Go with a puppy and you will be fine! If a puppy grows up with a kid, they end up with an amazing bond. It's really great for both your kid and the dog

We got a puppy whose a month to the day younger than our little one. Let me just say I felt nuts for the first two months we had the dog. He needed more work than the baby did. Fast forward a few months, they love each other but cannot be on the floor together because he gets too excited and is huge. We don't want him to accidentally hurt her. He is a boxer mix who is built like a tank, and is now 60lbs.

Our family got a puppy after the baby, when the baby was about 3 years old, we got a little yorkie, more of baby size. I think yorkies or Labrador are super friendly and safe for babies

We had a dog before baby came, we had to let the dog get use to the baby, like smelling things with babies scent. We have a toy poodle.
