How long do you mommas keep your babies in their bassinets? I’ve been getting mixed opinions on when they should move into their cribs. Pediatrician says when you feel comfortable, some friends do as early as 4 months, others have been around a year, etc.

Usually until about 4-5 months is a good time to ween them off the bassinet and into the crib. It's a small milestone but they need to start the adjustment.

We switched from bassinet to crib within about 3-4 months. Mama needed to get some sleep! I felt like I was constantly checking on her and neither of us were getting quality sleep. Once we moved her, I still got up to check (make sure she's breathing, etc... cuz thats what we do) but I found that got less and less as we both learned to soothe ourselves to sleep.

We switched about 3 months. It's not like he wasn't safe in the crib and the biggest part of it was being in a different room but then I was the one who needed more adjusting so I slept in there on the floor or in the rocker for a while until I was comfortable with it.

We switched from bassinet to crib when baby was starting pull themselves up and peeking over. So around 4 months or so but anytime you feel comfortable is when you should do it.

My daughter stayed in the bassinet in our room  until she was around 3 months old.  Now, her room was directly across the hall, so we felt very  comfortable moving her over to her crib.  I started practicing with the crib with her naps during the day for a solid month before we made the switch.  She was comfortable with her crib by then and we purchased a good baby monitor to help soothe my mommy worries!!  There is no right or wrong answer here and sometimes you just need to do what feels right for you and your baby.

I agree with everyone else. Around the 4 to 5 month mark is pretty typical. That's what my friends and also my pediatrician told me. I also did some more research online that averaged 4 to 5 months also. You'll know when it's time.

I switched as early as 3 months. My baby is very long so he basically didn't fit in the bassinet anymore & it went fine

Yea I did the same. lol, it was hard to let go but now, he is too independent and my marriage is better than ever

I waited until five months old, that seemed like a good time for me... But every child and parent is different

I did it at 5 months. I feel like I could have probably switched earlier, but I think I was the one that wasn't ready at that time haha! At the 5 month mark the transition went somewhat smoothly though.

We had an interesting living situation when we brought our baby home. We had a crib next to our bed. She slept in the crib from day 1.

I switched at 3 and a half months. I could just tell it was time. It went just fine. He cried a lot as usual, but we all got used to it after awhile. I think you will know once it's time.

I would say 3-6 months is good. Some start crawling around 6 months so you don't want them crawling around in a bassinet. I think once they get really active and start moving around the crib is safest for them! Trying to crawl up the side of a bassinet is scary, they can tip it over or whatever.

My first child grew up a lot slower than he was supposed to, so I waited till about 7 months with him. But, it depends on how your baby is

With our first we switched to the crib at 5 months.  I worked her up to it by letting her take her day naps in the crib.  We had a video monitor that I trusted really well so I wasn't worried about not being woken up by her if she needed me during the night.  It took several nights to get her in there through the night but we hung in there and she finally made the transition.

We did it at 4 months. I think it depends on your baby and if you feel they are ready or not. I think 4 to 5 months is healthy. But I have heard of some parents waiting until 6 months. So it's really up to you.

Usually between 4-6 months all depending on the stage if they look ready or not.  It was about the crawling.

I switched at 5 months, but I've heard from 4-6 also. I could tell it was time. You have to take that leap at some point. But most of my friends said they knew when it was time too.

4-5 months is what I have always heard. I think 4 months seems to be the average there. It always comes down to what you and your baby are comfortable with.

4-6 months is typical but I think practicing during naps is a great idea!

Both of mine were around 12 weeks old.  They were directly across the hall from our room and I trusted my baby monitor.  You just need to do what you are comfortable with and know that there isn't a right or wrong answer (unless they are 6 and still sleeping in a crib 😂 .

With my eldest she slept in her crib since day one because we were living with my parents while our house was being finished.  When my middle she slept in the bassinet for about 3 months and I'm assuming this one will be the same.  I love my babies but I love my room, bed and husband!

I switched around 3-4 months when he started to out grow it. We tried the crib but found it was easier for baby to co-sleep with us. He did nap in his crib or pack n' play.

Jessica posted this 26 October 2018

We transitioned to a crib at 4 months.  The crib was in our bedroom, but we luckily had a smooth transition.

As soon as they start rolling, or attempting to roll, move them over.

Michelle posted this 02 November 2018

I switched him at around 4 months. I also got him used to it by using the crib for nap time 😊

Jane posted this 02 November 2018

My son was in his until about 3 1/2 months. It was a relatively easy transition thankfully but I did miss having him right by my bed.

Hana posted this 07 November 2018

We switched at 9 months.  She slept in our room in the pack n play until then.  Do what you feel comfortable with, there is no right or wrong answer here.
