THE SAFETY OF PROPOFOL DURING PREGNANCY OR BREASTFEEDING

THIS MEDICATION CAN CAUSE HARM TO YOUR BABY: Propofol should only be used in pregnant women if clearly needed and the benefits of treatment outweigh the potential risks to the baby. There have been few human studies that have looked at the safety of Propofol during pregnancy, but animal studies indicate that repeated or prolonged exposure to Propofol during the third trimester of pregnancy may be harmful to the brain of a developing baby.
